Inclusion and diversity
-
Accessibility and disability
Our website has an accessibility option at the bottom left of our website making it easier for people to change fronts, colours, use screen readers and reading panes.
We offer British sign language (BSL) interpretation appointments by request at our drop in services.
We provide our staff an volunteers with training on awareness of different long term health conditions, and visible and non-visible disabilities.
-
Mental health
Our staff and volunteers receive training and guidance on how to support clients with mental health conditions.
Our clients are able to ask for support on their mental health and we can advise on the best possible outreach for you.
Our feedback suggests that clients have more peace of mind after speaking with us.
-
Race and ethnicity
We strive to create a fully inclusive culture for all staff, trustees, volunteers and our clients.
We use diversity monitoring forms to ensure that our workforce contains a strong diversity of people from different races and backgrounds.
We hold and maintain a zero tolerance on any form of discrimination including race and ethnicity.
-
Sexual orientation and gender identity
We actively support and celebrate Pride season and have previously attended pride events to celebrate and support greater LGBT+ inclusion.
We are committed to providing a supportive and safe space for our clients, staff and volunteers, and the way in which they wish to express their gender identity.
We use preferred pronouns on our email footers and profiles as another way of helping everyone feel welcomed and valued for how they identify.
