Fundraiser

Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity, mainly funded by local authorities, companies, charitable trusts and individuals.

Role of a Fundraiser

As a fundraiser you will:

  • Work with the Chief Officer and the Charity Treasurer or other trustees to meet fundraising objectives
  • Help with researching fundraising opportunities
  • Organise fundraising events
  • Help complete funding applications
  • Draft presentations to give to potential funders

Personal skills/attributes that a fundraiser needs:

  • A commitment to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice
  • To understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A willingness to attend training and other meetings
  • To be approachable and friendly
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to spot potential opportunities
