Citizens Advice Service in the Borough of Wigan is a charity which helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing information and advice, and by influencing policy makers. We need to recruit skilled trustees to join our board.
We are looking for people with strategic vision, independent judgement and a willingness to give time and commitment to being a trustee. In particular we are looking for people with some or all of the following skills and experience:
- Strategic business planning and development,
- Finance experience at a senior level,
- Leadership/ chairing skills,
- Marketing, publicity and promotion,
- Greater Manchester Health and Social Care
The post of trustee is unpaid but will provide you a great deal of experience and satisfaction. All reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
Our Trustee Board meets approximately every 6 weeks in Leigh or Wigan on a rotational basis. Meetings start at 5.45 pm and last approximately 1.5 hours. In addition to this, trustees will need to spend some time preparing for board meetings, participating in ad hoc committees/ bespoke pieces of work and an annual ‘away day’. We are also seeking a trustee who would be able to represent our organisation on the GM Citizens Advice Strategic Board.
We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
